Overview
Fort Marshall, an old Charleston Naval Base, is home to many people who have loved ones in the army. Four wives and one husband all share that they have a significant other who is fighting for their country. The group gets close and faces its own drama, while each character struggles with the changes around them. Adultery, abuse, deployment, death, homophobia, alcohol, post-traumatic stress disorder and financial problems can be seen throughout the series. Claudia’s husband didn’t get promoted. Pamela is acting as a surrogate mother to pay off debt. Roland is trying to reconnect with his wife who just returned from Afghanistan. Denise isn’t sure how to handle her son’s anger issues. Based on the book with the same title, each episode deals with a different problem a typical army spouse may see.
