Morgan Spurlock, who gained critical acclaim for his expose of the fast food industry called Super Size Me, managed to finance this production totally from brand product placement, which is the subject explored in this documentary. The meetings, marketing processes and manipulation that goes into which brands ultimately sponsor the entertainment that the world enjoys is examined in close detail. The documentary examines today's culture of excessive product placement in entertainment, which has increasingly become an industry that sells out its integrity in order to reap big bucks in exchange for financing assorted film projects. Every item used in this film has been sponsored by a specific brand which paid for its placement.
