A fourteen-year-old suburban teenager named Annie (Liana Liberato) is lured into a seemingly innocent online relationship with sixteen-year-old Charlie (Chris Henry Coffey). Taking their relationship to the next level, the two decide to meet face-to-face after months of online communication. Annie discovers that Charlie is much older and is quiet dismayed by this fact. Despite her hesitation, Charlie continues to seduce her into his dark world of sex and pornography. Annie becomes quite distant from her family and friends and she slips further and further away. A friend of Annie's sees the two of them together and makes the school principal aware of this relationship. This then spawns an FBI investigation and Annie's world shatters. Annie and her family all struggle together in order to regain their lives back. |
