Big city executive Martin Harvey inherits a sailboat from his uncle. Once owned by Clark Gable, the sailboat could be of value to a Miami yacht broker if delivered in good condition. Hoping to leave behind the everyday pressures of life, Martin wants to take his wife and children to the Caribbean, sailing back to Miami with a captain supplied by the broker. Captain Ron Rico is the broker's recommendation, a one-eyed wild-haired experienced sailor, more than a bit rough around the edges. Complications begin immediately upon learning the sailboat is in a neglected state and repairs will be necessary. Free-spirited Captain Ron succeeds in guiding the Harvey family back to Miami and teaching each of them the joys of living life to the fullest. |
