Overview
A couple, Trevor and Kirsty, are in an accident when their car goes off a bridge. Trevor wakes in a hospital weeks later and learns that Kirsty's body has not been found though she is presumed dead. He also learns that police suspect him of being a murderer. Then Pinhead, a Cenobite, reveals to him that in reality, Kirsty is still alive, and he is being punished for cheating on her throughout their marriage. Trevor had forced Kirsty to open the puzzle box in hopes the Cenobites would take her away, but she made a bargain in which she offered them five souls. Kirsty pins four murders on Trevor and makes him the fifth victim. He was the lone person in the car accident.
