Overview
Jane has been avoiding her own existence since an accident left her in a wheelchair years earlier. Once a singer/songwriter, she has not sung a word since that same accident killed her husband and left her to relinquish her young son for adoption, as she could not take care of him herself. Joey, Jane's only friend, holds conversations with angels no one else can see. When he discovers an author he greatly admires will be speaking in New Orleans, he cajoles Jane to accompany him. On the way, Joey intends to bring Jane to her son's first communion ceremony, an idea hatched without Jane's initial knowledge or consent. This memorable road trip of two friends will lead both to a well-deserved acceptance and redemption.
