When four Furlings (animal children) go on a trip with their teacher, Cornelius, through the forest. After Russell is almost run over by a careless driver, they hurry back to their home and to safety. However, they discover their home has been destroyed by an overturned tanker that has spread toxic poison throughout their home. Michelle, one of the Furlings, panics and runs home to find her parents dead from the gas and she becomes severely ill from breathing it in. Cornelius tells the other three Furlings that they must find two special herbs in order to save Michelle's life. Russell, Abigail, and Edgar set off together to find the lifesaving medicine for their friend, hoping to be back in time to keep Michelle alive. |
