In 1963 Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, four girlfriends decide to have one last fling at the boy scene before one of them, Carson, gets married to her rich, uptight boyfriend. They decide to go during the Spring Festival, where there will be boys, music, alcohol, and dancing contests. Each girl has a unique personality, and during this visit to the beach scene they enter a dance contest and make a name for themselves locally. At the same time the girls say farewell to their childhood and enter the next phase of their lives, making some life decisions and exploring their own desires and life goals. |
