Overview
In Salem, Massachusetts, a young girl named Abigail Williams becomes involved with John Proctor, one of the community's leading citizens and a married man. Abigail is desperate to have John to herself and sacrifices a chicken in a black magic ritual that she hopes will cause his wife to die. However, she is caught in the act by the local minister and must lie to protect herself. As mass hysteria rises in Salem, Abigail sees an opportunity to rid herself of John's wife once and for all.
