Overview
In 1940s Santa Rosa, California, a barber tells the story of a man stuck trying to get out of his humdrum life. The barber’s tale is one of blackmail, death, adultery, foul play, racial slurs, a piano player, made-up heroics during the war, and aliens. Ed Crane cuts hair in the in-law’s place, his wife is a drunk, and may be cheating on him with her boss, who has ten-thousand dollars to open up a second department store. Ed finds out a way to get his money in dry cleaning. He will use blackmail, investments, and strung together tales as his opportunity to be more than someone that is invisible to the world.
