Overview
Jacob McCandles is a gunfighter and rancher known by friends and foes alike as "Big Jake." When his grandson is kidnapped and his oldest son seriously injured by outlaws associated with John Fain, his estranged wife Martha calls upon Big Jake's help to deliver the cash ransom in order to ensure the safe return of the child. When a group of Texas Rangers aiding in the ransom attempt are killed, Jake continues on by horseback to confront Fain and get the boy back. After plenty of violence, gunfire and threats that he will kill the boy, Fain is fatally shot but Jake is only wounded. He manages to head for home with Little Jake by his side to reunite with his wife and remaining family members.
