Talk show host Gabriel Noone enjoys a following of very loyal radio listeners, drawn in by his nightly discussions about the failing health of his HIV-positive partner Jess. When Jess suddenly breaks up with Gabriel, he feels very adrift until a friend passes along a manuscript written by a 14-year old teen, also living with AIDS. Soon after, one of his nighttime callers identifies himself as the "Pete" who wrote the book, only to be cut off from further contact by his stepmother. Gabriel ties to piece together more of Pete's story, only to become more disturbed that Pete's claims about childhood abuse are false and have been manufactured by Donna, his stepmother, for the purposes of the book in order to get attention. |
