Overview
Sacha Baren Cohen stars as a Kazakh journalist traveling to the United States to learn how the people of Kazakhstan can benefit from "the American way." Depicted as a near hell-on-Earth in contrast to the US, Kazakhstan is shown as a completely backwards nation lacking any semblance of modern technology or civility. Borat travels the US and sees strange sight after strange sight as bewildered Americans are caught on candid camera, not seeming to realize that Cohen's character Borat is just that- a character. Borat drives an ice cream truck with a "guard bear" in the back around the US, attending fancy dinners, picking up prostitutes, hanging out with gay men at a Pride Parade, singing the nation anthem at a rodeo and attempting to kidnap Pamela Anderson.
