Overview
Are we alone in the universe, or are there other planets trying to communicate with us? A French scientist named Claude Lacombe starts compiling evidence that there may be more to our universe than we first expected. After Lacombe starts discussing his findings with the United States government, people all over the world start reporting seeing strange things in the skies. Individuals throughout the country are suddenly compelled to create strange artifacts in their homes and they are all drawn to the same place in the deserts of Wyoming. When we see a UFO, that is a close encounter of the first kind. Visual contact of an alien is the second kind of encounter. What these people experience is a close encounter of the third kind, which has never been experienced before.
