Overview
Public defender Roland Dalton is exhausted in his thankless position, but being assigned a crack dealer named Michael Jones leaves him entangled in a dangerous situation that could incriminate the New York police. Jones is on trial for shooting an officer in Central Park, but he insists to Dalton that the killing was in self-defense and that the officer was actually in the park to rob drug dealers for his own profit. Determined to get to the bottom of the widening scandal, Dalton seeks out narcotics agent Richie Marks for aid. Complications arise in and out of the court as the investigation becomes more complex and dangerous.
