With the passing of Abby McClure's husband, she has taken over the family business and raised her three sons. The oldest, Flip, is in his late teens and sees himself as the man of the house. Abby has resisted the efforts of her sister, Maxine, to match her with a man, but considers a date with one of Maxine's suggestions when she mentions Jake, an acquaintance from several years before her husband's death. Jake has a teenaged daughter, Stacey, who - similar to Flip - sees herself as the woman of the house. Abby and Jake's courtship is successful and they decide to marry, but Flip and Stacey struggle with their desired roles, and while the two houses are waiting to be sold, uncertainty reigns. |
