Trailer | Overview Henry V is a 15th century English king who is considering taking lands from the church. To get him distracted, the Archbishop of Canterbury and another Bishop convince Henry he should invade France. Henry is persuaded that he should have the French crown, and he and the Dauphin, the crown prince of France, exchange insults. When Henry’s troops lay siege to a French city, they become depleted. His army is vastly outnumbered. Instead of offering a ransom to save his army, Henry compels them to press on with a rousing speech. Somewhat miraculously, the English win and Henry is named king of both England and France in the treaty that ends the war. He plans to marry the French princess Katharine. |
