Nancy Thompson is having nightmares about a scarred man with a wide-brimmed hat, tattered sweater, and razor-sharp knives on his fingers. And so are all of her teenage friends. Tormented by this murderous man in their dreams, the teens quickly discover that their best route to survival is to stay awake. As her friends fall asleep and die in gruesome ways, Nancy sets out to uncover the identity of this dream killer and his connection to the kids of Elm Street. She’s confronted with tales of Freddy Krueger from her mother, his subsequent murder, and his search for vengeance against those who burned him alive. With her facts lined up, Nancy strives to draw Freddy out of her dreams and into the real world, killing him a second time. Or she can attempt to never sleep again.
