Overview
A hard-boiled private detective, Victoria "V.I.", is tough s nails on the outside, but inside is a soft-hearted romantic. Determined to keep just about everyone at a distance, she is at a bar having a drink one night when she meets and begins to fall in love with an former hockey player Boom-Boom Grafalk. As the two chat at the bar, the begin to grown soft towards one another and appear to be falling in love. Despite her attraction to him, V.I. leaves the bar without him, but gives him her address. She is shocked to find that later, Boom-Boom is knocking on her door. When she opens the door standing beside Boom-Boom is his 13-year-old daughter. He desperately asks Victoria to watch his daughter Kat, while he is out on some errands that he doesn't elaborate on. Victoria agrees and Kat is staying with her when they receive news that Kat's father has been killed in a boat explosion. Kat doesn't believe its an accident and together she and V.I. track down Boom-Boom's killer.
