Edmund is a boy whose favorite story is that of Chanticleer. Chanticleer is a farm rooster whose fabulous singing makes the sun rise above his farm every morning. However, not everybody likes the sun and the Grand Duke of Owls, the leader of a group of barnyard owls who hate the sun, make a plan to stop Chanticleer. The owls successfully trick all of chanticleer's friends and he is driven from his farm as everybody thinks he is liar and a fraud. However, the soon learn the truth when the owls make it so it is always dark and rainy on the farm. However, back in real life, as Edmund's own family farm is flooding from constant rain, he calls to Chanticleer hoping he will help save his family. After Edmund calls however, the Grand Duke of Owls appears and =, desperate to keep chanticleer from coming back, turns the boy into a kitten to eat him. However, Edmund is soon rescued by a group of Chanticleers friends, magpie, peepers, snipes, and patou. Together the new friends set off to find Chanticleer, who has become a big rock star, and convince him to return home to help save the farm. |
