Buddy Young was the comic loved by all comics. He was selling out venues and bringing the house down every week, when suddenly, he had a great downfall and now he is lucky to collect a small crowd. He works for nursing homes to crowds forced to watch him, and he has officially hit the bottom of his career. All his friends realize he should retire but he just can't bring himself to make the same realization. He moves along, endlessly searching for work in show business, but he must bring himself to realize that show business has no room for a washed-out star such as himself. The story is one of self-realization and begs the question, "Can an old star make a comeback?" |
