Overview
Maximilian is the last survivor from his race of vampires that live on an island in the Caribbean. So he begins searching for a mate to keep his bloodline from ending. He knows that a male vampire had a baby with a human many years before, so he decides to travel to Brooklyn to find her. Now grown up, Rita does not know that he is part vampire. So Max finds her and attempts to woo her without revealing his true motives. Rita already has a boyfriend, however, and he does not want her involved with Max. Meanwhile, Rita has strange dreams each night that she cannot interpret. So she battles with who to be with as she attempts to figure out her destiny.
