Overview
In a prequel to earlier stories, the tale of vampires Victor and Selene intersect with the life of an unusual werewolf named Lucien. Unlike his lycanthropic kin, Lucien is exceptionally intelligent and capable of controlling his base desires. Since the vampires and their escaped former werewolf servants are constantly in conflict, Lucien becomes a weapon for the will of Viktor, local vampire leader. Lucien is tasked with keeping captive werewolves in line as well as killing those that have escaped. However, when Lucien and Selene fall in love, the werewolf loses his place as a favored vassal and finds himself at the end of a whip. He eventually escapes, defeats Viktor, and goes on to begin amassing an army of Lycans to fight the vampires.
