Overview
Derek Thompson is a rough hockey player that constantly strikes opponents with his stick. Because they lose teeth during every game, Thompson adopts the nickname of "Tooth Fairy." His family life is complicated, with a girlfriend raising a young daughter, Tess, and a teenage son, Randy. When Tess loses a tooth, Thompson borrows the money left by the real tooth fairy. As punishment, the tooth fairy community enlists Thompson as a temporary fairy. He must learn to treat people nicely and fairly as he is shrunk down to fairy size. Through his nightly visits to other children, Thompson slows matures into a father figure for his girlfriend's children. Although he is a hockey player, he can still be a compassionate person off the ice to lead a healthier family life.
