Overview
A man and woman who have decided on divorce, each try desperately to inflict enough hardship on the other so that he or she will flee the marital home. An established divorce lawyer recalls their story to a new client wherein the husband, Oscar Rose, meets and marries his future wife, Barbara, has children and increases their wealth over the years, including the acquisition of their home, an old mansion that Barbara spends vast amounts of effort and money to restore. As Oscar excels in his legal career, wife Barbara becomes increasingly unhappy with him and asks for a divorce. The husband and wife attempt increasingly humiliating and painful stunts to convince the other to give up the battle for the home they both want.
