Gail is an expert river rafter looking forward to an invigorating vacation with her husband and son. The trip takes a frightening turn when their voyage is hijacked by a pair of deadly criminals. These men are inexperienced, so they need an expert like Gail to get them safely to their destination. Tempers flare and personalities clash as Gail tries to focus on the complex task of navigating the river while worrying about the safety of her family members, who are expendable and therefore in far greater peril than she is. While she tries to work out what to do next, she keeps the criminals in conversation, and a rapport begins to develop among them. Still, she never forget the danger they pose to her.
