Andy Schmidt is a legend in his own mind. He is quite confident that he has what it takes to be a show business star. Mary knows Andy is egotistical and obnoxious, but loves him anyway. After annoying her very straight-laced parents, the couple decides to elope. Andy and Mary relocate from Ohio to New York City to begin Andy's destiny with stardom. Mary is forced to take a job and support them both when his career dreams fail to materialize. One day, Andy is befriended by Milton Miller, an actor and occasional wrestler. Andy decides to try professional wrestling. His character is called The Lover and is more showboat than wrestler. The Lover quickly wins over large amounts of fans. Andy finally makes it big. |
