Overview
Sherman McCoy is a financier in New York City when his mistress hits and kills an African-American boy. Journalist Peter Fallow uses the incident to write a series of articles that turn the city upside down. When a Jewish man running for mayor wants to score the minority vote, he uses the story to inflame the minorty community. Fallow finds that the car in the accident was McCoy's and the D.A. wants to prosecute McCoy for the crime. McCoy wants to take the fall, but the girl won't let him. Fallow finds evidence to get McCoy exonerated, but they must find a way to use it.
