Life gets turned upside down for street-hardened detective Joe Bomowski when his elderly, frail mother comes to visit. His mother, Tutti, decides it is time to fix up her baby boy's life and begins to make a series of choices that have a negative--albeit comical--effect on Sargent Bomowski's career and love life. She ups the ante in her meddling when she buys her son a machine gun out of the back of a stranger's van. The climax of the movie gives a nod to its title when Tutti actually helps Joe out on a case and saves the day. In the end she proves that she is not so frail after all. |
