Overview
Sophie has lived through the very worst. As a European Jew, she was forced to live in a concentration camp during the Nazi invasions. The lowest point of this situation was when a Nazi officer demanded that she choose which of her children to save. Even years after she managed to survive through that terror, the memories of the past still haunt her. When she meets an American named Nathan, she believes she will finally be able to move on and lead a somewhat normal life. However, he has an obsession over the Holocaust, and all she wants to do is forget it.
