| Overview
The life and beliefs of a small town woman are called into question when she discovers that her husband has been unfaithful. After a bitter confrontation on a downtown street, she retreats to the safety of her sister's house while she ruminates and seeks advice on what to do next. The support and advice she receives from her sister (and her friends) turns out not to be what she expected. At every turn, she is advised not to leave her cheating husband, but rather to forget about the infidelity and reconcile. Worse yet, her father, who owns a stable for hunting and jumping horses, believes the family should ignore the troubling events of her life and focus instead on a major upcoming riding competition. With her life in tatters, and reeling from a shattered sense of belief in the goodness of the world, she must reexamine not only her own life and behaviors, but also the lives of those around her. |
