Overview
Benjamin, the eccentric but good-hearted friend of robot inventor Newton Crosby, has started a new life for himself as a toymaker. He lives in New York City and sells miniature versions of Johnny 5, the robot that mysteriously gained self-awareness, on street corners. When a young woman who works for a toy company offers to buy his robots in bulk, he calls in the real Johnny 5 to help speed up assembly. The big city is quite the culture shock for Johnny 5, and exploring it sends him spiraling into an existential crisis. What's more, Benjamin's business partner is not entirely to be trusted, and Benjamin needs some serious help from Johnny if he is going to romance the woman who has won his heart.
