In his time as a bumbling detective, Jacques Clouseau made a few enemies. One of them decides to kill him, and to the world, he appears to have succeeded. Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus, who has been living in a mental institution as a result of a nervous breakdown brought on by Clouseau's antics, makes a remarkable recovery and decides it is now safe for him to go out into the world. As it happens, however, the murder attempt was unsuccessful. Jacques Clouseau still lives, and he wants to know who tried to have him killed. He takes advantage of his situation to quietly investigate his own murder, with a lot of help from his faithful sidekick Cato. Naturally, major disasters lurk just around the corner. |
