Overview
Public Enemies is a 2009 crime film based in the 1930s. The film focuses on the infamous gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd. John Dillinger, played by Johnny Depp, was one of the most prominent bank robbers of this time period. He robbed, successfully and frequently, in the Chicago area and became considered the top enemy of the public. FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) launches a manhunt, determined to take down Dillinger and his gang. Dillinger's fate seems to be sealed when one of his trusted acquaintances betrays him and provides law enforcement with his whereabouts.
