Overview
Andie comes from a working class home across the railroad tracks and is often teased by the rich kids at her high school because of her background. She spends her free time hanging out with her unpopular best friends Duckie and Iona; creating and designing new fashions; and dreaming of a different life. No one has asked Andie out on a date or to prom except for rich kid Steff who only wants to add a notch to his bedpost before graduation. Then Blaine enters Andie's world. Although he's rich and popular, he seemingly doesn't care about their social differences. Can Andie's friendships survive her new love? Does a relationship between two people of different backgrounds have any chance against the harsh criticisms of peers?
