Overview
Popeye the sailor happens upon the small town of Sweethaven, which is filled with unique characters. He soon befriends the Oyl family and steals rail-thin beauty Olive Oyl from the town bully, Bluto. Popeye's adventure begins when he decides to find his father, Poopdeck Pappy. Along the way, Popeye gets into a series of bizarre adventures and even takes on an orphaned child names Swee'pea as a son. The story is pulled from the Sunday funnies of old and features Wimpy, along with all of the other Sweethaven residents that have become part of this very popular imaginary world. This story works to tie together many of the elements that has made Popeye famous, including the surge of magical energy he gets from a can of spinach.
