A soldier is sent to a maximum security prison on an island for murdering his commanding officer. There is no way on or off except by helicopter since the authorities are constantly monitoring it by satellite transmission. He is forced to choose between two separate camps: a larger one run by a ruthless convict intent on ruling the entire place and a smaller camp who work together for the common good. At first the man is part of the larger group, but after a test of his courage, he ultimately flees and is taken into the other band. He helps them out even as their numbers grow smaller due to the constant attacks by the other faction. There is one powerful weapon on the island that is not in working condition due to the fact that the prisoners don't understand the technology. It is being held by the powerful overlord of the convicts who is intent on finding out how to use this marvel. The climactic scene involves the smaller camp being overrun by the larger one, but the raiders are surprised after taking possession of the compound and that is when the government makes it's move. |
