Overview
This movie combines western styles and comedy to produce a look into the life of Bret Maverick, a card-counter gambling con-artist who swindles money away from people who don't even realize they're being taken for the fool. Maverick and his friend Joseph come up with a plot to use their skills to con a Russian Grand Duke, so Maverick signs up for a poker game to proceed with the plan. However, Maverick's dishonest plan catches up with him, while other thieving characters don't want him to win, even if it's fair and square. Maverick avoids both death and dishonor as he plays cards to prove that he's one of the best around.
