Overview
Jonas Nightengale is a con artist with a great flair for showmanship. He takes his traveling troupe from town to town and puts on big tent revivals, passing himself off as a preacher. He doesn't feel any guilt about bilking people out of their money; after all, he is giving them hope, and who can put a price tag on that? Still, when he falls in love with a woman in the latest small town he has come to scam, he begins to feel unsure of himself. Her brother is deeply disabled but filled with faith, and during one of his revivals, the young man appears to make a genuinely miraculous recovery. Has the con artist been conned, or is there a true miracle afoot?
