Trailer | Overview Tommy Collins is an unemployed stripper living with his mother and her boyfriend in their mobile home. Life is pretty carefree, so when he gets a summons for jury duty he throws it away. However, when Tommy’s mother and her boyfriend decide they’re going to pull up stakes and move their trailer to Las Vegas so they can get married, he and his dog Peanut need a different plan. After learning that a sequestered juror gets a free place to stay, free food to eat, and $5.00 a day, Tommy hatches the perfect scheme. He gets himself seated on the jury of an accused killer. It seems like a no-fail idea, until he finds himself rooming with his former high school principal. He makes a deal with the hotel manager for access to a luxury suite. With all his needs being met and a desire to romance Monica, an attractive co-juror, Tommy digs in his heels for a long trial. When the jury begins deliberations, Tommy winds up being foreman. While other members of the jury are quickly ready to convict, he holds up the process by constantly asking to review evidence, testimony, etc. During the process, Tommy begins to learn more about the law, and he discovers new evidence, in a photograph, that might prove the accused is innocent. Around the same time, Monica discovers that Tommy was a fraud. |
