Overview
Independence Day got the world pumped with its promotional material filled with national monuments being recklessly destroyed. And so we were introduced to the world of Roland Emmerich, a director that could make Michael Bay think, Too much? The film rallies the triumph of the human spirit to all new heights after ruthless aliens attack, kill and destroy because, well, it’s Tuesday. The devastation begins on July 2nd and the world crumbles beneath this seemingly unstoppable onslaught. It comes to a head on the Fourth of July, when a last minute retaliation and an inspiring speech by the President of the United States (Bill Pullman) gives the world renewed strength and determination.
