12 year old Josh is at a difficult time in his life. His father has recently died and his family moved to Washington, which causes him to be cripplingly shy. One day when he is outside practicing basketball, he meets an abandoned golden retriever named Buddy. Buddy turns out to be a super basketball player, and gives Josh the confidence to try out for his school's team. Later, after interrupting a game and even scoring a goal, Buddy himself is added to the team's roster as a crowd favorite. Unfortunately, everything doesn't go smoothly for Josh, as Buddy's old owner comes out of the woodwork to reclaim him now that the dog is famous. |
