Overview
This endearing true tale follows outrageous eccentric Maurice Flitcroft as he chases his dream of becoming a champion golfer, even though he doesn't really know how to play the game. Whatever the challenge, his optimism carries him forward. Maurice operates a crane in a shipyard. He's not the sort of chap who competes for prestigious golf championships, but he desperately wants to be. Instead of giving up his dream, he manages to bend the rules so he can play in the 1976 British Open Golf Championship Qualifying, becoming a golf legend for playing the worst round in the tournament's history.
