A young man named Sam is being held against his will in a facility called the Spiderhead. It is a research center on the nature of consciousness. He has been there for six months, and he has no idea why he's there or how long he'll be there. Dr. Randhi administers Sam various drugs and treatments that affect his brain in the belief that they will help scientists discover more about how we think and feel. Randi has been trying different drugs to discover which ones are most effective at altering his brain chemistry. They also cause him to go into trances or dreamlike states where he can remember things from his past or even see things that aren't there in front of him. |
