Rollerball is a violent game that grabs the interest of the audience with each ounce of blood it draws. The game consists of talented skaters in thick suits tossing about an extremely heavy metal ball. The sport is exhilarating and dangerous, as some motorcycles are involved to cause a stir. Johnathan Cross is brought into the game by Alexi Petrovich to be a part of the team in the viewers’ favorite sport. He quickly learns that the nature of the game is as forceful one, and viewers will pay to see someone get hurt. Johnathan also learns that ratings go up when someone is in danger, and the network makes more money when people’s lives are at stake. He finds himself fighting for his life, along with his teammates. |
