Overview
Victor and Raya Frenkel are Israeli voice actors who found film success in an unusual way. They provided dubbing for films shown in the Soviet Union. They translated what Hollywood icons like Kirk Douglas, Gregory Peck and Rita Hayworth were saying for Russian audiences. Originally from Russia, the Jewish couple fled the USSR when it began to crumble and emigrated to Israel. Despite being free of the harsh Soviet regime, Victor and Freya find adjusting to a new life in Israel extremely difficult. They no longer have jobs as voice-over actors and they feel alienated from their new society.
