Overview
Dr. Alma Felser is an archaeologist who needs a financial backer for her research project. Then a company that builds human-like robots approaches her and asks her to live with a robot named Tom for three weeks. Alma's job is to evaluate how well Tom interacts intimately with a human being. If she completes the three-week study, her research money will be granted. Tom the robot is nearly indistinguishable from an incredibly handsome real man. Alma begins to fall in love with Tom while also being disgusted with the idea of becoming emotionally involved and intimate with 'a machine.'
