An 8-year-old girl named Jenny lives in a Brooklyn townhouse with her mother, who is a lawyer, and her father, who is an artist. One day, her mother gets killed in a hit-and-run accident, and as Jenny and her dad are trying to adjust to life without her, they are met with several obstacles like her grandfather suing to get custody of her, and her babysitter trying to take over as the new female head of the household. The toy puppets she has in her room gives her some solace from her troubles--until they start to come to life and put everyone's lives in danger. |
