A retired Air Force NASA pilot and bachelor, Victor Martin, enjoys his retirement years in Palm Springs. He hangs out with his best friend, Sal Spinelli, who is a retired jeweler. He often drives around care free in a mint 1955 Porsche 356 convertible. Even though he's alone, he believes that he has everything he needs in life.
When he and Sal cross paths with a vintage Chevy Impala owner, Pablo Torres, he agrees to compete in a drag race. It's fun at first until Victor is caught recklessly driving twice. After forgiving his first infraction, the police take his license and impound his Porsche.
On a community bus, his only means of travel, Victor meets a beautiful woman named Caroline who owns a local cafe focused on organic foods. He soon finds himself learning both the true value of a driver's license and that he's not too old to love someone or to be loved in return. |
