Trailer | Overview The true story of Fred Hampton, a Chicago man who rose to be a leader of the Black Panther Party movement of the 1960s. The FBI targeted Hampton as a dangerous radical. They used an African American man, William O'Neal, to infiltrate the group and spy upon Hampton. Hampton was shot to death in a Chicago apartment during a raid by police and FBI agents in 1969. O'Neal provided authorities with information on Hampton's whereabouts. The death was ruled a justifiable homicide, but the black community considers Hampton's killing a government-sanctioned assassination of an American political figure. |
